Aubergine

The aubergine is a fruit composed mainly of water. It provides very few calories, however, it is very rich in fibre, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, folates and vitamin C.

Its most noteworthy feature is its high content of antioxidant compounds such as phenols and chlorogenic acid, both of which are naturally generated by the plant. The aubergine is fat-free and is therefore a very low calorie food, containing 20 kilocalories per 100g.

Its consumption is highly recommended for digestive disorders, glucose control, cholesterol reduction, low-calorie diets and to prevent cellular oxidation.
